Holiday 2014 Hours


With the holiday season quickly coming upon us, we thought we’d share our holiday special hours for the rest of the calendar year. 

Nov 26th: 3PM to 8PM

Nov 27th: Closed for Thanksgiving

Nov 28th: Noon to 9PM

Dec 24th: 10AM to 4PM

Dec 25th: Closed for Christmas

Dec 26th: 3PM to 9PM

Dec 31st: Noon to 6PM

Jan 1st: Closed for New Years Day

More progress on North Park tasting room/restaurant


Progress continues on our new tasting room and restaurant in North Park. We can’t wait until it opens! As you can see the rolling doors are installed and allow for sun and airflow across the front bar areas. In the back, you can see the primary dining (yes and drinking) area now has lighting fixtures.

If your in the area this week, take a peek through the windows as we’re painting the walls.

San Diego Beer Week Events at Tasting Room


Earlier today we posted the list of events we are doing for San Diego Beer Week at our accounts.  The following are those events we are having at the tasting room.  It should be a fun week, with new beers (e.g. Barleywine), vintage beers (Vanilla Rescue Buoy) and fun pairings with friends.   We hope you’ll join us to help celebrate craft beer in San Diego!

Our schedule of events are as follows:

11/7: SDBW kickoff with a community kickback event. We are giving back a percentage to a local elementary school. To make this night even more special, we will have our vintage Scotch Oaked Black Lagoon Scottish Strong pouring!  This beer was very popular during Rip Current Awareness week so we hope you enjoy it while it lasts!

11/8: Go big or go Home event night. We are introducing Down the Line Barleywine (11.5%) as a malty cousin to our monster Hop Wine (15.7%). These are great pairings with the incredible BBQ from Aptos St BBQ. Aptos St is a Rip Current customer who operates a small chain of BBQ places in the San Francisco bay area and are coming down for this event.

11/9: Yeah Buoy! We will have a rare return of different variations of Rescue Buoy RIS including batches 1, 2 and 3 plus the Bourbon Oaked and the Vanilla! Many of these are low so its your last chance to try them. Of course we will also be watching the NFL games.

Remember we are closed on Monday and Tuesdays…

11/12: ‘Epic Wednesdays’ with Epic Eatz food truck. We’ll have on a special cask plus our popular San Onofre Saison on the pilot tap. Don’t forget our $2 off growler refill special!

11/13: Date night with Pubcakes. We’ll have beer and cupcake pairing available for purchase plus the last of the Old Man on a Date (Old Ale aged on dates).

11/14: Brats & Brews night. We’ll have the BratShack food vendor with us to pair brats with our selection of German beers including: Fresh San Diego style Hefe, Marine Layer Hefe, Weizenbock and our Halloween beer called Hallowheat.

11/15: Cellar Saturday! We’re going back into the cellar and will be rotating kegs of previous big beers from years gone by including some true gems :) .

11/16: Rise & Shine event. Come watch the NFL games with us and enjoy some Kona Storm (Kona coffee Imperial Porter) and the end of the Coconut Kona Storm.

Progress Continues in North Park


Progress continues on our future home in North Park. As you can see the reclaimed wood facing to the bar and cold room are now in place along with most of the major infrastructure and walls. The open section on the cold room is for our 12′ wide tap area! In order to be more green, we’re insulating the roof to hold in the heating and air conditioning. The black curtain you see if the covering that goes over the insulation.

IMG_3586 IMG_3587Our new place is now pre-wired for our 6 speakers, 4 TVs and 2 POS terminals. We will be installing the 20 taps in a couple weeks so stay tuned.   We are still hoping to be open in December so keep your fingers crossed we don’t run into any new delays!
